Well I finally did it! It has been a long time coming but I now have this website and it has been such an amazing process! I am sitting here with my dandelion tea with almond milk – you should try it – and contemplating all that has happened over the last few weeks. This site is one of those things that I have been meaning to do for ages. I am very much a visionary and a dreamer which is great. Without action it is not so great. It can actually be frustrating. Perhaps you can relate. I am sure a lot of us have big ideas and things we want to do and achieve that are still in the pipeline. However, when the big idea is matched with actions, we get a result.
I can go no further without acknowledging the fact that if it was simply up to me alone there would be no website. I know nothing about coding. I am not a graphic designer and as for photos, I snap with my iphone and that is where it ends.
I have been so incredibly blessed with a truly amazing and gifted team of people who have put in a lot of hours to make this site a reality. Nothing good happens alone. I am convinced of this. We are created for relationships and it is quite amazing how our strengths when combined can bring about something worthwhile. A good jazz band, a symphony orchestra, a strong football team, the cast in a play, the crew for a movie….all examples of people working together, pooling their strengths, to bring about a better outcome than could ever be achieved alone.
I am surrounded by people I love who are excellent at what they do. Each and every one of them have been committed to taking action to achieve something creatively fantastic.
It is a joy for me to work alongside them and also very humbling. For this reason I dedicate this first blog to those people who have come on board in a completely selfless, sacrificial and phenomenal way. I really could not do any of this without you and my appreciation exceeds any words.
My deepest gratitude to Gervais Koffi, Michael Coggins, Brooke Napper and Rachelle Napper for all their time and hard work in so many facets. Far too many to even mention. Also Pauline McFetridge for pushing me along, Donna and Tora, Pat Powell, Deborah Torres Patel and Donna Reynolds for proofreading and my Mum for all her useful suggestions! As well as Monie Gabriel who is an excellent make up artist and Adriana Hilder for assisting when we shot the videos. I am also incredibly appreciative for all the beautiful testimonials that flooded in once I announced this site was on its way. Thankyou so much!
I really believe that if you look around and see who is in your life at any given time, they are there for a purpose. Maybe you have something to offer them and maybe they can help you in areas that you know little about. Or maybe you have similar strengths and can combine forces to be even more powerful as a team. Take a moment to think seriously about what you want to do or achieve. Now see who is around you and may want to unite with you for your dreams to come true. You may realise that you have all you need to get started on a brand new idea….
This is a quote I like and it is very apt for right now!
"Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort." - Franklin Roosevelt
It really is great to achieve our goals. I am in the middle of preparing a “WEBSITE LAUNCH PARTY” for the lovely team of people working with me that I mentioned above. We work hard but I believe it is IMPORTANT to also celebrate our milestone steps along the way. Make sure you celebrate yours. Even if they are tiny. Still celebrate!
Anyway, I would love to hear from you so please feel free to comment, email me, connect with me on Facebook or Twitter and make sure you register for Sing From Your Soul!
It is going to be GREAT!
