We are in the final stage of preparing an awesome event for you this Saturday! You Have a Voice is always a powerful day and this one I feel is going to be the most powerful yet.
It is my pleasure to now introduce to you the three other SUPERSTARS who will be sharing their gifts and talents on the day.

Firstly, I want you to know all about Gail Page. She is truly one of a kind. There is positively no female vocalist out there that can do what she does. As Michael Smith from Drum Media says of Gail’s vocal, it’s “soft and velvety one minute, dark and powerful when it needs to be and deeply imbued with the wear and tear of having lived: a real woman's voice.” Gail sees her music as a “sacred” place, drawing inspiration from her Aboriginal and Irish heritage, coupled with a lifetime of experience. This Sydney-based singer delivers the goods.

Having been in the business only 5 years, Gail has stormed the soul, blues arena with a powerful force. Her first album, Colours That Run, received 6 nominations out of a possible 7 available at the prestigious Australian Blues “Chain” awards in 2008, and won the best female vocalist, best new artist and best producer awards.

Gail has been a regular at most blues and music festivals on the east coast and her music is influenced by old-school masters of the craft such as Etta James, Donny Hathaway, and Mavis Staples. A natural performer live, audiences will walk away moved, and with the feeling they have witnessed something truly special.

Appearing recently on the hit television show 'the Voice', Gail blew the judges away with her rendition of ‘I Put a Spell on You’. Her performance received rave reviews from both the public and her musician peers, and her video clip of the song has been visited over 50,000 times.

She has true heart and soul and will be teaching some unforgettable truths about performing, singing without straining, connecting with the audience and much more. She knows how to keep it real and authentic. You are going to love her.

The performers I have chosen for the day are second to none. Pat Powell, as well as being one of my dearest friends, is one of the most known, respected and revered singers around. His career spans decades of incredible performances, tours and shows. An established performer in musical theatre roles such as The Buddy Holly Story and Godspell among many others, he has also supported acts with various artists including Eurhythmics, James Brown, Double O & Velour, Adeva, Queen, Sydney Youngblood, Redhead Kingpin, The Beloved, Beats International, Kylie Minogue, Boy George, Crowded House and George Benson.

Pat has toured extensively throughout Australia, Asia & Europe as Kylie Minogue’s backing vocalist, including feature solos and A Capella duets. He is a highly regarded voice over specialist and if you have heard any Bacardi Rum ads with a Jamaican accent - it was probably him...

Pat is often in the studio creating something new, performing reggae, soul, funk, jazz or blues somewhere or flying interstate to feature in yet another show or festival. He works with the top Australian musicians and has a rock solid reputation in the Australian Music scene.

Finally it is my pleasure to introduce to you Yannick Koffi - a thirteen year old musical prodigy of Afro-Australian heritage who has a unique sense and understanding of music that is a rare pleasure to witness.

Yannick is a multi-instrumentalist that I have had the joy of teaching for a number of years. Seeing him develop from mind blowing to even more mind blowing is a regular part of life with Yan. Under the committed tutelage of his father, Gervais, also an established and well known musician, Yannick has been exposed to numerous genres and styles of music and has developed exceptional skills on bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, keyboard and of course voice. It is second nature for Yannick to record in the studio and his skills and ability are literally breathtaking.

In his short career he has attracted a lot of media attention featuring in several newspapers and magazines, including The Sydney Morning Herald, London Metro, CBS News in America and The LIFE magazine in the Ivory Coast. He regularly performs professionally at Australia’s most famous venues and festivals.

Endorsed with FENDER, Yannick has performed internationally in the USA, AFRICA and JAPAN sharing stages with the likes of Alpha Blondy, Ismael Isaac, Kadjeem, Desire Gadeau, Third World and Caribbean superstar Jacob Desvarieux from Kassav’. He was invited to join the outstanding “Super Kids” band in Japan as part of a TV show called “Unbelievable!”. He also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show.

Yannick’s videos have been watched by thousands of people around the globe on Youtube and I know you are going to fall in love with both Pat and Yannick and what they bring to YHAV for us all.

With such an unbeatable line up to add to Mary Kiani and Doug Williams I am sure you will agree that this is going to be one heck of a workshop. Can't wait to see you there!

Always remember, You Have a Voice!
