Simone's voice and music have been described as “world class”, “drenched with soul and feeling” and “utterly amazing”.
After finishing her Contemporary Music Bachelor of Arts Degree at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts, Simone's career hit a new level in America with the launch of her first two albums “Take My Love” and “Make it Happen”.
Now based in Sydney after returning from successful singing engagements in America, Asia and Europe, Simone was quickly sought after by some of Australia's most accomplished musicians as a solo performer and/or backing vocalist for both live and studio work. She has performed in many top venues, her styles including gospel, jazz, soul, funk, pop, ballads and R&B.
Simone was extremely overjoyed to accept a highly coveted $40,000 Research Award from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Jazz Faculty, and is currently studying her Masters of Music (Performance) under the supervision of Dr Helen Mitchell and was studying under the instruction of the late Kerrie Biddell - the top Australian jazz vocalist. This has led to Simone being invited to perform as a featured artist at the prestigious Manly Jazz Festival, one of the leading jazz festivals in Australia.
Her recent touring schedule has been full as she has performed on the incredibly popular show Elvis to the Max around Australia. Simone was also privileged to play keyboard and sing backing vocals touring nationally with the multi award winning hit artist Taylor Dayne.
Due to her expertise in vocal training and coupled with her dynamic personality, Simone is also considered an expert in her field of vocal coaching after teaching thousands of singing lessons stretched across two decades.
She is in demand from beginners to professionals, even adding a Federal Politician to her list of students.
Noticing that aspiring singers were struggling vocally with poor technique and low self confidence, Simone started to pour her energy into helping and equipping them by designing her outstanding workshops with the theme “You Have a Voice” as the underlying foundation. A truth that she passionately teaches.
Instruction for incorporating good vocal technique and building repertoire are some of her specialities. Simone often develops song writing ideas with students who then record their work in the studio.
This is a wonderful and rewarding creative journey often taken by her students.
Common mistakes such as poor breathing technique, misunderstanding of phrasing, lack of projection as well as tone, pitch and timing issues are dealt with in an expert fashion by Simone and the positive results in her students are abundantly clear.
Simone was honoured to accept an invitation from the esteemed Executive Producer Pauline McFetridge to judge Miss World Australia. This led to further judging of Miss Sydney Australia, Miss Southern Highlands and Miss Lebanon Australia. Being on the panel of grand final judges for the Nescafe Big Break competitions was also an honoured invitation which was accepted by Simone, after previously winning that same competition.
Simone's inspirational song “Born to Win” has had high rotation on Sydney radio receiving rave reviews and was selected as the headlining song which Simone performed at the crowning of Miss World Australia. Simone has donated all money from this song to charities here in Australia and overseas and is also a proud ambassador of Sing4Life.
